Challenge:

This marquee luxury ocean liner company provides the rich heritage of travel for guests to points all over the globe in unparalleled style. Their fleet of cruise ship brands range from the most glamorous to fun cruises for the entire family. What’s most memorable about a cruise vacation? The food, of course!

These ships take thousands of passengers per year from port to port providing champagne toasts, entertainment, and some of the finest cuisine and views anywhere in the world. Their fleet and tour company combined attract over 8 million guests per annum.

With thousands of vacationers and a wide variety of meals served in various themed venues, the master chef needs kitchen equipment he can rely on that is durable and seaworthy. This means that when the seas are high and customers still want their meals, he and his staff can deliver them safely and efficiently. 

The kitchen personnel had to put used cooking oil into a container, take it down an elevator 5 decks below, then move it into 55 gallon drums. Their system took all night to filter and the risk of spilling oil in the process was high and particularly hazardous while at sea.
